Vision Mission & Objectives

VISION

To be a department of choice in nurturing innovation and talent spearheading training, research and development of educators emphasizing on personal reflection and the application of educational management and policy in theory and practice in enhancing service delivery of education services.

 

MISSION

To preserve, create and disseminate knowledge, conserve and develop management and leadership skills of educators through quality teaching and research.

CORE VALUES

  • To stress on strategic leadership rather than administration and management
  • To stress on institutional autonomy and partnership rather than control, orientation to public service, enabling and advising rather than providing services; contracting of services, formal rather than informal monitoring and evaluation of performance
  • To provide tailor-made professional programmes that will be rich in knowledge by addressing the critical areas of concern for educators with the aim of helping them to contribute positively to economic development of the society.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To be innovative in creation of new programmes to keep abreast with market demands.
  2. To pursue excellence in teaching, learning and research locally and internationally.
  3. To review curricula after every two years to ensure its relevance in the society.
  4. To widen access, participation and completion of postgraduate programmes within 2 years period.
  5. To encourage departmental competitive writing of fundable research proposals; conducting research and disseminating findings through conferences and publication in refereed journals.
